Durango has a creative pulse that shows up in every corner of the city. You can find performers of all kinds here, from comics and improvisers to musicians, dancers, drag artists, clowns, and storytellers. It’s a place where people try things, build skills, and share their work with real heart.

Durango Comedy works with local performers and venues to offer regular practice spaces for anyone who wants to grow in stand‑up. We host writing sessions, open mics, and small workshop environments where comics can test ideas + get feedback & build confidence at their own pace. If you’re curious about stepping onstage, want a low‑pressure way to explore comedy, or a place to sharpen your material, this is a good start.

We welcome every background, every level of experience, and every identity. The only thing we ask is that people show up with respect for the room and the community. We support bold voices and honest expression, but we do not allow hate speech in any setting.

GUIDELINES:

Keeping amateur comedy fun for everyone!

1. NO DISCRIMINATORY LANGUAGE
No slurs or accents that are not your culture's.  No further discussion. Comedy is a craft and art-form, not a shock contest.  Be tasteful & respectful, that's all we ask.  

2. WE'RE HERE TO SUPPORT  EACH OTHER
It helps us all have fun  ☺  We're here to laugh, make friends & perform some comedy.  So, let's do that.

3. TALK ABOUT YOUR LIVED EXPERIENCES
This is a great tool for not punching down in your material.  You finally have a room full of people listening to you, let them know who you are!
