Aaron Foster is a comedian who specializes in finding the "funny" in the places most of us are afraid to look. A former host of HGTV’s FreeStyle, Foster lived many lives...from award-winning restaurateur to professional artist... before returning to the stage at 50 to finally talk about the things he couldn't decorate away.

His stand-up is characterized by a dry, storyteller's wit that blends the raw honesty of a one-man show with the punches of a club comic. If you appreciate dark, insightful humor, Foster offers a uniquely mature perspective on life’s more complicated chapters.

His current tour, "Mostly Jokes," is a darkly hilarious hour that has been winning over audiences across North America. Described as "subversively funny" and "gallows humor at its best," the show dives into heavy topics like family trauma and mental health with refreshing vulnerability. Recently, the show was named Best Solo Show at the Tucson Fringe Festival and enjoyed a string of sold-out performances at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Foster eschews traditional crowd work, opting instead to guide the audience through a tightly crafted narrative that explores his upbringing and the mid-life crisis that led him back to comedy.

Aaron Foster is the clinically depressed former host of an HGTV show you (probably) don’t remember, has acted in numerous films you’ve (hopefully) never seen, and is a standup comic you’ve (sadly) never heard of. That being said, his uniquely hilarious take on dark topics like his own mental health (or lack thereof) has given him a unique voice in the comedy world and he regularly performs in clubs and theaters around the us and canada.

Foster’s style lies somewhere between the hilarious storytelling of Mike Birbiglia and the raw honesty of Marc Maron. His uniquely dark perspective is how he deals with the madness of, well, life.

He is currently on tour with his show “Mostly Jokes” that was named “best solo show” at the 2025 Tucson Fringe Festival. It is autobiographical standup and storytelling that one reviewer called: “Dark comedy with a huge heart.” Another said: “Subversively funny, laugh out loud, gallows humor.” One more said: “Holy shit.”

The Hive DGO is a youth-centered community hub in Durango, Colorado, that provides a brave and inclusive space for under-resourced and underrepresented youth to connect and grow. Originally founded in 2019, the nonprofit recently relocated to a 7,800-square-foot facility at 1175 Camino Del Rio to better serve its community of over 400 annual participants. This expanded headquarters features a larger indoor skatepark, an all-ages sober music venue known as The Swarm, and dedicated art studios for creative expression.
