Gary Simons is a rising stand‑up comedian known for his hilariously quick-witted, introspective, and pretty dang clean comedy. Gary’s act is featured at iconic clubs in New York City, including The Comedy Cellar, The Stand, and Hollywood Improv. Gary was the tour opener for Mike Birbiglia’s ‘Working It Out’ tour, as well as a co-producer for Birbiglia's Netflix show, The Good Life. While in college, he won Georgetown’s “Funniest Human” competition... a contest whose past winners include John Mulaney, Mike Birbiglia, and Nick Kroll.

His rapid ascent in the industry was further solidified when he was named a Comic to Watch in the 2024 New York Comedy Festival. Gary has since toured extensively across the country, serving as a frequent opening act for comedy heavyweights such as Mike Birbiglia, Roy Wood Jr., Gary Gulman, and Sam Jay.

GARY SIMONS:

Originally from Connecticut and now a staple of the New York City comedy scene, Gary Simons is a comedian, writer, and actor recognized for his inviting narrative style and sharp, introspective observations.

Simons first gained attention while attending Georgetown University, where he won the prestigious Georgetown’s Funniest Human competition—joining the ranks of past winners like Mike Birbiglia, John Mulaney, and Nick Kroll. Since then, he has rapidly ascended the ranks of the industry, being named a Comic to Watch in the 2024 New York Comedy Festival.

Gary has since toured extensively across the country, serving as a frequent opening act for comedy heavyweights such as Mike Birbiglia, Roy Wood Jr., Gary Gulman, and Sam Jay. When not on the road, he is a regular performer at the world-famous Comedy Cellar and The Stand in New York City. Beyond the stage, Simons has established himself as a versatile creative force, serving as a co-producer for Birbiglia's 2025 Netflix project The Good Life and as the creator and host of The Comedy Kickback, a quarterly live variety show featuring stand-up, music, and original sketches. With additional appearances on Subway Takes and the Working It Out podcast, Gary continues to be a rising force known for blending personal vulnerability with his signature brand of "witty under-thinking."
