Debuting on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon & winning the "Funniest Comic in NYC" title, Ontonio Kareem is an introspective, unique, & hilarious rising stand-up comic coming to Durango. From appearances on Don't Tell Comedy & a regular performer at The Comedy Cellar, Ontonio plays on past life experiences and an awkward upbringing in Chicago to fuel his signature subdued and uniquely laid-back style. Beyond the stage, he is a multifaceted artist who has appeared on NBC’s Chicago Fire and produces music under the moniker KIRA. ONTONIO KAREEM

Ontonio Kareem is a rising star in the comedy world, widely recognized for his uniquely laid-back and introspective style that stems from an awkward upbringing in Chicago. He has quickly become a staple at legendary venues like the Comedy Cellar and was recently honored as New York’s Funniest Comic. Beyond the club circuit, Ontonio has gained national visibility through his popular set on Don’t Tell Comedy, which has amassed hundreds of thousands of views, and by touring alongside heavyweights such as Chris Redd, Janelle James, and Roy Wood Jr.. His headlining sets offer a masterclass in subdued storytelling, often exploring his past experiences as a children's therapist and his transition into the entertainment industry.

A true multi-hyphenate, Ontonio’s creative reach extends into television and music, appearing as "DJ" on NBC’s Chicago Fire and starring as "Q" in the feature film Basic. Under the moniker KIRA, he is also a respected music producer whose debut EP, It’s a Long Way Down, has been featured on Soulection Beats Radio. He remains a prominent figure in the festival circuit, with performances at Moontower, Laughfest, and the New York Comedy Festival.
